When you cannot decide between a banana or apple loaf and would like to have more flavor in the loaf, use this delicious and flavorful loaf recipe. This Apple / Banana/ Nutella loaf, has the flavor of a banana, chocolate as well as apple. This loaf can make a very tasty breakfast item.
INGREDIENTS NOTE
- The secret ingredient that makes this apple banana loaf very delicious is the Nutella. You can add more Nutella if you want the chocolate flavor to be more dominant.
- Apple sauce creates a very velvety and moist crumb as well as extra flavor.
- And obviously banana is the main ingredient in the recipe which adds a ton of flavor and moisture to the cake.
Disclaimer: I highly recommend using the measurements in grams & ml (instead of cups & spoons) for more accuracy and better results.

Apple-Banana-Nutella Loaf
Delicious and flavorful apple- banana loaf
Ingredients
- ½ cup Butter, Room temperature
- 2 cups All purpose flour, Spooned and leveled
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 Large eggs, Room temperature
- ½ cup Bananas, Mashed
- ½ cup Apple sauce, unsweetened , Room temperature
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
- ½ cup Milk, Room temperature
- ½ cup Nutella
- 1 tablespoon Milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F, grease, and line with parchment paper a 9X5 inch loaf pan. Set aside.
- Sift all the dry ingredients together excluding the sugar. set aside.2 cups All purpose flour, 1 teaspoon Baking soda, ½ teaspoon Cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon Salt
- Cream together butter and sugar. beat for 2 minutes.1 cup Sugar, ½ cup Butter
- Add eggs, one at a time. I will look curdled, and it's okay. Add vanilla extract, and mix.2 Large eggs, 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
- Add the mashed bananas and the apple sauce to the milk and mix well.½ cup Bananas, ½ cup Apple sauce, unsweetened, ½ cup Milk
- Add the sifted dry ingredients to the above mixture and mix with a spatula. DO NOT OVERMIX
- Add 1 tablespoon milk to the Nutella and microwave for 15 seconds, until Nutella is loosened up.1 tablespoon Milk, ½ cup Nutella
- Pour half of the cake batter into the pan, and add half of the Nutella mixture with a small spoon. With a tip of a knife or stick make swirls into the Nutella and the cake batter.
- Add the second half of the batter to the pan and add the remaining Nutella and swirl it around.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until an insert comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then transfer to a cooling rack by lifting the paper overhang.
