Have you ever been to the baking supply store, and found an ingredient that inspires you? Inspires you to make a recipe using that same ingredient! All right, I found the most delicious mini peanut butter chips. This Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownie recipe is packed with chocolate chips, Chopped milk chocolate, as well as a ton of mini peanut butter chips. These brownies are easy to make, fudgy, moist, and super flavorful.
About This Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownie Recipe
- The base for these brownies is my Easy Breezy Brownies recipe which I have made some changes to make this Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownie recipe.
- I am using two kinds of chocolate in the recipe, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and chopped milk chocolate. Semi-sweet chocolate chips create a fudgy texture as well as a rich chocolatey flavor.
- The chopped milk chocolate melts in the batter but does not dissolve into the brownie texture. Instead, they create pools of melted milk chocolate inside the brownie batter. This contributes to the fudginess of the brownies.
- The most exciting part of this recipe for me was the mini peanut butter chips. These chips will give a subtle peanut butter flavor to the baked goods.
- For depth in the chocolate flavor, we need to use cocoa powder as well. Use Dutch Processed, Cocoa Powder.
- Any time there is cocoa powder in a recipe, it is a good idea to use a small amount of Espresso Powder too. Espresso powder enhances the chocolate flavor.
How To Make The Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownies
- Sift all the dry ingredients including the espresso powder and cocoa powder. Set them aside.
- Melt the butter and add the oil to it. Set it aside.
- Start whisking the eggs, one yolk, and the two sugars, until quite pale and light. There is one egg yolk in this recipe. Egg yolk adds moisture and binding to the brownies.
- The more you whisk the ingredients in the step above, the better. The mixture should turn light and creamy. This will contribute to the brownie's cracked top.
- Add the butter mixture to the egg mixture, and mix.
- Gently mix in the dry ingredients. Do not overmix.
- Add in the two chocolate types and the peanut butter chips and mix.
- It is very important to let the brownies cool down completely after baking. Brownies need to set and firm up in the pan. If remove it earlier from the pan, you will end up with a big brownie mess.
