How To Make These Pecan Caramel Thumbprint Cookies
- Sift all the dry ingredients including the cocoa powder.
- Beat the softened butter with sugar until soft and fluffy and well combined.
- Add in the egg yolk and vanilla extract and beat well.
- Next switch to a rubber spatula and mix in the flour in two batches.
- Fold in the crushed nuts, and gently mix.
- Make small balls out of the dough, the size of a walnut in the shell.
- Roll each ball of dough into the crushed nuts and place on the lined baking sheets. Using a round ½ teaspoon to make a dent in the center of each ball.
- Bake the cookies, and when they come out of the oven, the dent that you made is almost gone. Take the same teaspoon and press it into the center of the cookies and make the dent deeper.
- Let the cookies cool completely, then fill each dent with caramel sausce.
- Melt the milk chocolate and pour it into a piping bag with a tiny tip hole. Drizzle the chocolate all over the cookies.

Ingredients
- 1 cup All-purpose flour, Spooned and leveled
- ¼ cup+2 tsp Cocoa powder, Sifted
- ¼ teaspoon Baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- ½ cup Butter, Softened
- ½ cup Granulated sugar
- 1 Egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1 cup Pecans, Toasted, crushed, and divided
For The Filling
- ¾ cup Caramel sauce
- ¼ cup Milk chocolate, Melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F, and line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
- Sift all dry ingredients and set them aside.1 cup All-purpose flour, ¼ cup+2 teaspoon Cocoa powder, ¼ teaspoon Baking powder, ¼ teaspoon Salt
- Using a hand mixer, mix the soft butter and sugar until creamy and soft.½ cup Butter, ½ cup Granulated sugar

- Using a spatula fold in the dry ingredients and mix.
- Fold in ¾ cup of the crushed pecans into the cookie dough, and save the rest for rolling.1 cup Pecans
- make small balls out of the cookie dough and roll each ball into the remaining crushed pecans. Use the back of a round teaspoon and make a dent in the center of each cookie. Place them on the baking sheet and leave an inch between them.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the sides look set. While the cookies are still hor go into their center with the same teaspoon and make the dent deeper.
- Let them cool down completely then fill each dent with a teaspoon of caramel sauce.¾ cup Caramel sauce
- Let the caramel set and harden a bit. Melt the chocolate and pour it into the piping bag. Make a small hole at the end of the piping bag and drizzle the chocolate over the cookies and let the chocolate set.¼ cup Milk chocolate
