These Chocolate Chip Cookies are the ultimate soft, chewy, rich and decadent cookies that can serve any happy occasion.
What treat is more favourite and loved than a delicious Chocolate Chip Cookie? This cookie recipe has been around for as long as you can remember and comes in different variations. Some like it thin, and some like it thick and chewy. Some would like to incorporate chopped nuts into their Chocolate Chip Cookies, and some would like spice, such as cinnamon, in their cookies. This recipe gives you a batch of moist and chewy decadent cookies.
About These Chocolate Chip Cookies
These cookies have a few different twists on the traditional Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe that we know. Below, I am going to explain what we do differently here;
- This recipe uses both All-purpose and Whole Wheat Flour. Using whole wheat in a cookie recipe makes them extra chewy and soft. It also makes darker cookies with a nutty flavour.
- We also use Granulated Sugar as well as Brown Sugar. Brown sugar adds a ton of flavour and moisture to the cookies.
- What is a cookie recipe without Butter? Be sure to leave it out of the fridge to come to room temperature.
- Eggs are an essential component of every cookie recipe. Eggs create bonding and cohesion in the recipe.
- Since these are Chocolate Chip Cookies, we need to add some chocolate. Right? 😉 Usually, the recipe calls for chocolate chips. However, I recommend using chopped chocolate instead. Chopped Chocolate has a richer flavour and melts better in the cookies, leaving pools of chocolate. I use this one.
- This recipe calls for Baking Soda, Salt, and Vanilla Extract.
- If you would like the cookie dough to have more texture and flavour, feel free to add some chopped walnuts or pecans.
How To Make These Cookies
- Cream the butter with two sugars until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time and beat well after each one.
- Add in vanilla extract and mix.
- Sift all the dry ingredients and add them to the butter mixture. Using a spatula, gently fold in the flour.
- At the end, add the chopped chocolate and the nuts (If using).
- Cover the dough with cling wrap and chill for at least one hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350F and line the baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Use an ice cream scoop to scoop the dough into small balls, about 30 grams each.
- Place them on the baking sheet with at least 2 inches of space between them.
- Place a few pieces of chopped chocolate on them and bake them for 8- 10 minutes. Cookies are done when the edges are set, and the cookies are slightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool down on the baking sheet, then transfer them to a cooling rack to cool down completely.
