About These Halloween Chocolate Cookies
- These cookies have a ton of chocolate flavors from the chocolate chips and the cocoa powder. Yes! these are double chocolate cookies.
- This recipe is using chopped chocolate, and this makes their texture chewy and soft. Be sure to use high-quality chocolate for a better taste and texture!
- Cocoa powder is another important component in this recipe, and just like chocolate, it is important to use good quality cocoa powder such as Hershey's Cocoa Powder.
- This rich and decadent flavor is even more enhanced by adding chocolate smarties on top. You can top these cookies with another kind of sprinkles to fit them to a different occasion.
How To Make These Cookies
- We melt the butter first and add the cocoa powder to it. We leave that sit still for a few minutes. This makes the cocoa bloom and brings out its color and flavor, and also makes the cookies extra moist.
- This recipe calls for both granulated and brown sugar. Brown sugar contains molasses which is packed with flavor and moisture.
- It is very important to mix the sugars and the butter/cocoa powder very well. Mixing these will assist with incorporating air and dissolving the sugar which results in chewy and moist cookies!
- We use two large eggs in this Halloween Chocolate Cookie recipe. Eggs play the role of glue in these cookies by bonding all the ingredients together.
- The chopped chocolate add at the end before the baking. Chopped chocolate melts in the batter vs chocolate chips that are meant to keep their round shape while baking. This melting point about the chocolate bar adds a gooey texture to the cookies.
- Their top can be decorated with any kind of sprinkles depending on the occasion.
