Ingredients

For The Cookies

  • 1 cup Butter, Room temperature
  • ¾ cup Powdered sugar, Sifted
  • 2 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 1 Egg yolk, Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2⅓ cup All-purpose flour, Spooned and levelled
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt

For The Glaze

  • 2 cups Powdered sugar, Sifted
  • cup Nutella
  • cup Heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup Mini Heart-shaped sprinkles

Instructions

How To Make The Cookies

  • Leave the butter at room temperature before starting to bake. Mix the butter, powdered sugar, cornstarch, and salt until smooth and silky.
1 cup Butter, ¾ cup Powdered sugar, 2 teaspoon Cornstarch, ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract.
1 Egg yolk, 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • Add the flour in two or three passes and mix well after each. In the end, you should have a silky and smooth dough.
    2⅓ cup All-purpose flour
  • Shape the dough into a disc, cling wrap, and chill for one hour. In the meantime preheat the oven to 325. Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough. For easier rolling, place the dough between two pieces of wax paper.
  • Once the dough is ¼ of an inch thick, use your heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut the cookies. Place the cookies on the lined baking sheet and leave one inch of space between them.
  • Bake them for 8 to 10 minutes. They are done when their edges are set and slightly golden. Let them cool down before frosting.

How To Make The Glaze

  • Mix all the ingredients until smooth and silky. If the glaze is too stiff add more cream and if it is too runny, add more powdered sugar.
2 cups Powdered sugar, ⅓ cup Nutella, ⅓ cup Heavy cream, 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • Use a small spatula or spoon to spread the glaze over the cookies. Sprinkle the glaze before it is set. The glaze will set after an hour.
    ¼ cup Mini Heart-shaped sprinkles
