Let's talk about one of my favorite cakes; the "Orange-Yogurt loaf. This orange yogurt loaf uses orange juice, orange zest, and Greek yogurt. Yogurt's acidity helps activate baking soda, making baked goods fluffy and light. It can step in for sour cream. Orange juice adds a ton of flavor and aroma to the cake. How about that 🙂

The yogurt is the acid in this cake, and acid makes the cake super fluffy and light. The tanginess from the yogurt helps cut through the sweetness of the honey glaze for a more balanced bite. This orange yogurt loaf is glazed with warm honey syrup.

WHY THIS Orange Yogurt Loaf RECIPE WORKS

    • This cake combines delicious flavors from orange, yogurt, and honey glaze.
    • This cake is super easy to make, and the smell of sweet orange aroma seeping through the oven is dreamy.
    • All ingredients are very easy to prepare.
    • Glaze is just made of honey, butter, and orange zest.
    • This recipe uses one full cup of yogurt, the signature ingredient in this cake. Yogurt is what makes this loaf moist and fluffy.

    Ingredients Note

    • Yogurt- Sour cream or yogurt adds flavor, moisture, and a slight tang to the cake. This recipe uses full-fat Greek yogurt to add a more creamy flavor.
    • Orange Juice- At the end of the day, It is the Orange Yogurt cake. I used orange zest and orange juice to infuse the cake with the best orange flavor. On the ingredient list, I have listed one teaspoon of orange extract. The use of orange extract is optional. If you want a stronger orange flavor, you can add it.
    • Honey- I have used ⅓ cup of honey in the glaze. Honey is a sweetener and creates this earthy and natural flavor in the cake.
