Easy breezy three-layer marshmallow snack bars that come together in half hour.
Now that I am writing this post, it is a hot summer day in our town. I am sure we are looking for snacks that are easy to make and do not require a lot of time spent in the kitchen. These marshmallow snack bars are super easy to make and come together in no time.
About This Recipe
- These Marshmallow Snack Bars have three layers. The base is shortbread-like. this layer makes the firm foundation of the bars, then the middle layer is the milk chocolate candy bars. And the top is covered with marshmallow cream. To make more texture and crunch, I have spread the top with the remaining base batter.
- All the ingredients for these bars are very easy to prepare including, chocolate bars, graham crackers, marshmallow cream, and the baking basics. I purchase the marshmallow cream from the local supermarket, however, it is available here, Marshmallow Cream
- This recipe uses 5-6 graham cracker sheets that would make ¾ cup cracker crumbs. You can use Bischof as well.
- I am using milk chocolate candy bars here, but if you prefer dark chocolate, that is fine.
How To Make Marshmallow Snack Bars
- If you don't have the graham crumbs, no worries! Process a few sheets in the processor and pulse until you have fine crumbs.
- Add the crumbs to the dry ingredients, and set aside.
- Beat the butter and sugar until creamy and fluffy, then add the egg.
- The last step, add the flour mixture and mix. The batter will have the consistency of play dough.
- To assemble, spread the above batter into a 9X15 inch. Make sure it covers the bottom of the pan. Reserve ½ cup of the dough for the topping.
- Place the chocolate bars on top of the base, the n cover the chocolate layer with the marshmallow fluff. I used a 200 ML jar.
- Finally scatter the remaining dough on top of the marshmallow fluff, and bake for 25-30 minutes.
