Bundt cake is my favorite kind of cake, let alone a delicious and gorgeous Marble Chocolate Bundt Cake. Bundt cake has a denser texture compared to layered cakes. That is why we bake the Bundt cake in a fluted pan to allow the heat reach to every part of that dense cake batter and bake it well. The dense texture makes the Bundt cake a perfect cake to have with tea or coffee!

About This Marble Chocolate Bundt Cake

    • This beautiful cake has layers of vanilla batter alternating with a fluffy chocolate batter.
    • This recipe uses cake flour, but if you do not have cake flour, no panic!! You can easily make cake flour at home. Remove two tablespoons of one cup of regular all-purpose flour, and replace it with two tablespoons of corn starch.
    • There are different methods to assemble marble cake, however, I like the spooning method better. With spooning the batter, each slice of the cake has a very gorgeous zebra pattern. I will explain how to do the spooning method later in this post.
    • This Marble Chocolate Bundt Cake has a dense texture just like how a Bundt cake should be, and it is very light, and moist at the same time.
    • The vanilla batter contains buttermilk which makes the cake moist and flavorful. The chocolate batter also contains sour cream that again contributes to the velvety texture of the cake.

How To Make this Bundt Cake

    • We start with making the vanilla batter by beating the butter and sugar until it is creamy.
    • There are four eggs in this recipe. Add them one at a time and beat after each one.
    • Add the buttermilk and mix well
    • At the end adds the dry ingredients and gently fold in. DO NOT OVERMIX. The batter will be thick and it is okay.
    • For the chocolate batter, we need to make the chocolate mixture. Start by melting the chocolate on a double boiler. Then add the butter, and the cocoa powder and mix. We set this aside to use to make the chocolate batter.
    • Place about two cups of the plain batter in a bowl and add half a cup of sour cream and the chocolate mixture, and gently mix. Try to be as gentle as possible. Overmixing the batter will result in a super dense chocolate part of the cake.
    • Prepare your Bundt pan by rubbing butter all over inside it. Bundt Cake Pan
    • Place one scoop of the batter in the pan, With a clean scoop place one scoop of chocolate batter on top of the plain batter and repeat until all both batter is used. Do Not Swirl The Batter.
    • Tap the pan on the counter a few times to settle the batter, and bake.
