I have made this promise to you all that I show you how to make easy recipes in your home kitchen 🙂 Right? Let me tell you these little Pumpkin Rice Krispies are the easiest recipe you can find on my blog! These easy-to-make snacks are a perfect fun craft project you can do with your kids.
About This Pumpkin Rice Krispie Recipe
- If you have ever made Rice Krispie Squares, you know that this delicious snack/dessert does not require any baking. So easy breezy!
- These Pumpkin Rice Krispies need only a few simple ingredients including Rice Krispies Cereal, Large Marshmallows, Butter, and orange food coloring. Oh and the delicious Hershey Kisses for the pumpkin stems.
- As you all might know, prefer not to use any artificial color in my baking, and for these pumpkins, I am using saffron to create that beautiful orange color. However, feel free to use a few drops of orange food color to reach the shade of orange you desire.
How To Make This Recipe
- Start by melting the butter in a large pan with a thick bottom on low heat.
- Turn the heat to medium-high and add the marshmallows. Stir until all the marshmallows are melted.
- Remove the pan from the heat, add the food coloring and stir until all the marshmallow is turned an orange color. If you like, can divide the melted marshmallow in half. Add more color to one half, and less color to the other half. This way you will have two different shades of orange.
- Add in the rice Krispies and mix until all the rice Krispie pieces are covered with melted marshmallows.
- Let the mixture cool down for 5 minutes. If the mixture is too hot, it will not stick together and you won't be able to form a ball with it.
- Wear a pair of surgical gloves and grab enough of the mixture to make a ball the size of a tangerine. Press the ball lengthwise to make it look like a pumpkin.
- Using your finger, make a hole in the top of each pumpkin, place a Hershey's Kiss in it and press down.
