    About This Recipe

    • This recipe has a chocolatey and rich brownie base, and then peanut butter is added in a form of little balls instead of a swirling technique. This creates a beautiful and unique look for these Peanut Butter Brownies.
    • We use both brown sugar and granulated sugar in this recipe. Brown sugar contains molasses which is a great source of moisture and flavor.
    • For additional rich chocolate flavor, this recipe uses both chocolate and cocoa powder.
    • In this recipe, we melt the butter with chocolate at the beginning which brings out the butter flavor. This results in softer, rich, and more flavorful brownies.
    • This recipe uses one extra egg yolk which adds moisture and more bonding to the texture of the result.
    • The extra egg white will be added to the peanut butter part to add more structure.
    • These Peanut Butter Brownies have a velvety and soft texture in both the brownie and peanut butter parts.
    • The use of maple syrup is optional and just for its flavor.

How To Make These Peanut Butter Brownies

    • Melt the butter and chopped chocolate over medium heat until smooth and silky. Let it cool down for 10-15 minutes before incorporating it into the recipe.
    • Using the whisk attachment, whisk both sugars, yolk, and eggs. Take your time with this step. The more you beat them, the fudgier the brownies will become.
    • Using a spatula, add the dry ingredients and the chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and gently fold. This is the brownie part of these bars.

    • Let's make the peanut butter dollops. Remember the saved egg white? Now mix that with the peanut butter and the remaining brown sugar. You can mix this with the whisk attachment or hand mixer.
    • This mixture will have a dough consistency! I mean you can roll it in your hand into the shape of small balls. That is what I did here. Or you can drop spoonfuls of this mixture on the brownies batter.
    • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, and place the peanut butter balls over it. Try to make different sizes of peanut butter balls and scatter them unevenly over the brownie batter.
    • Bake and let cool down completely before cutting.
