    About These Bars

    • These bars have three layers; the base which is a biscuit, the chocolate layer which sits in the middle, and finally it is the top which can be any kind of nuts or dried fruit.
    • The base is the only layer that needs to be baked, and once it is cool, we cover it with melted chocolate and then sprinkle the chopped nuts.
    • This sheet of Chocolate Pecan Bar has crushed pecans and pistachios on top. This color combination makes these bars beautiful and colorful.
    • Other kinds of nuts you can use here can be hazelnuts, walnuts, or almonds.
    • As far as the chocolate goes, it is up to you how intense you want the chocolate! dark, milk, semi-sweet, or even white chocolate will work.

How To Make These Chocolate Pecan Bars

    • We start by baking the base by creaming the butter and sugar. Once the butter is quite fluffy, add in the egg and mix well.
    • The last part will be incorporating the dry ingredients. Use a spatula to mix gently.
    • We need a rectangular 9X13 inch pan to make these Chocolate Pecan Bars.
    • Spread the mixture into the pan that is lined with foil. You can use your fingertips to spread the dough evenly to the bottom of the pan. Bake the base and let it cool down completely.
    • Melt the chocolate of your choice in a saucepan and pour over the base, and before it is fully cooled down, toss the chopped nuts and dried fruits, if using all over the chocolate. Let the chocolate cool down and harden. Cut the bars in any shapes you like, and enjoy.
