    What Is Eggnog

historically also known as a milk punch or an egg milk punch when alcoholic beverages are added. It is a rich, chilled, sweet, dairy-based beverage. It is traditionally made with milk, cream, sugar, egg yolk, and whipped egg whites. Distilled spirits such as brandy, rum, whisky, or bourbon are often key ingredients. About This Eggnog Loaf Recipe

    • This loaf recipe is unbelievably easy to make and delicious.
    • The loaf texture is super fluffy and velvety, and you can add some nuts to have some additional crunch. I have half a cup of toasted pecans in this recipe.
    • Eggnog has a creamy, almost custardy consistency, contributing to the soft and moist crumb.
    • As I have noted above, any baked goods containing eggnog taste better if there is some alcoholic beverage. This recipe calls for some rum. Rum goes into both the loaf and the frosting.
    • This Eggnog Loaf will be your perfect treat with a hot cup of coffee on a cold winter day.

How To Make This Eggnog Loaf

    • Preparing a loaf recipe cannot be any easier! Sift all the dry ingredients in one bowl and set them aside.
    • Mix all the wet ingredients in a separate bowl, including the oil, eggnog, vanilla extract, and rum.
    • Next, add in the egg and mix well.
    • Add the dry ingredients in two batches and mix well. If the batter is a bit lumpy, beat it with a hand mixer for 10-20 seconds until it is lump-free.
    • Fold in the nuts if using any.
    • Grease and flour a 9X5 loaf pan, pour the batter into the pan and bake. Let the loaf cool down completely before glazing.

    • Sprinkle the top with chopped pecans.
