    About This Fudgiest Brownie Recipe

    • This recipe uses dark chocolate chunks and not chocolate chips. It is important to use good-quality chocolate to guarantee rich flavor, color, and texture.
    • The butter we use in these brownies is melted. Melting butter makes that fudgy texture and gives the finished product a deeper and richer chocolate flavor.
    • We need a small amount of cocoa powder to intensify the chocolate flavor.
    • This Fudgiest Brownie recipe calls for both brown and granulated sugar. Brown sugar adds a ton of flavor and moisture to the recipe.
    • The other ingredients are basic, such as flour, salt, and vanilla extract, which we use in most baked goods.
    • If you are looking for that cracked, shiny surface, make sure to beat the sugar and eggs for 3-5 minutes. The mixture should become light and pale. This step is crucial and contributes to that shiny top.
    • I made this recipe in an 8X8 square pan, and the brownies are soft and fudgy but not thick. If you prefer thicker brownies, double the ingredients.

    How To Make These Brownies

    • Preheat your oven to 350F, grease, and line an 8X8 inch pan. Set it aside.
    • Prepare a double boiler. Pour half a cup of water into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil. Let the water simmer on low heat.
    • Place the chocolate chunks and butter in a bowl on top of the simmering water, and ensure the simmering water is not touching the bottom of the bowl. Stir occasionally until the butter and chocolate are melted and smooth.
    • Set the mixer on a whisk attachment or use a hand mixer. Whisk the eggs with two sugars for 3-5 minutes. Be patient with this step if you want to achieve that shiny, cracked top.
    • Add the vanilla extract and mix.
    • Add the melted butter/ chocolate mixture to the egg mixture. Mix well.
    • Sift the flour, salt, and cocoa powder into a separate bowl. Add this to the batter, and use a rubber spatula to fold the dry ingredients into the batter. Do not overmix the batter.
    • Pour the batter into the lined pan, and bake. Check the brownies after 20 minutes by inserting an insert in the center of the batch. It should come out with semi-moist batter sticking to it.
