These soft, decadent, and delicious Inside Out Red Velvet Kiss Cookies are all you need for a great Valentin's day treat.

Inside Out Red Velvet Kiss Cookies

    About This Recipe

    • These Red Velvet Kiss Cookies are soft buttery, with a slight crunch from the granulated sugar coating. They are topped with a Hershey Kiss blossom that melts in your mouth for an extra delicious chocolaty flavor.
    • This recipe calls for a handful of easy ingredients. No fancy ingredient here.
    • To make the cookies softer and more flavorful, we need to combine dark brown and granulated sugar. Brown sugar adds a ton of flavor and moisture to the recipe.
    • Red Velvet cookies make a perfect box of cookies to gift to your loved ones.
    • In every red velvet recipe, we need to use some red gel food coloring, and to deepen the shade of red, always add a small amount of cocoa powder. Cocoa powder adds flavor as well as enhances the red color. I prefer a deeper red when it comes to red velvet recipes. If you prefer a lighter shade of red, add less cocoa powder.
    • Butter is the standard ingredient in any delicious cookie recipe. Make sure the butter is at room temperature. Butter has a distinct flavor and is the source of fat in the recipe.
    • The rest of the ingredients are the baking soda, the leavener, and salt.
    • The Hershey Kisses we use in these cookies are solid milk chocolate; however, other kinds, such as marbled or dark chocolate, will work fine.

How To Make These Inside-Out Red Velvet Kiss Cookies

    • Like any other cookie recipe, start creaming the room-temperature butter. Then add both sugars, mix with a hand mixer, and cream for two minutes. The mixture will become light and fluffy.
    • Add the room-temperature egg and vanilla extract. Mix well.
    • Now time to add the red gel food coloring. I recommend adding the color before adding the flour. That is because we do not want to overmix the mixture after adding the flour.
    • Sift all dry ingredients together and add to the above mixture.
    • Cover the dough and chill for 1-2 hours.
    • Preheat the oven and make small balls the size of a small tangerine. Roll them into granulated sugar.
    • Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes. Once they start to crack, remove them from the oven, and right away, place a Hershey Kiss in the center of each cookie. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for five minutes to prevent the chocolate from melting.
