- Nescafe, or instant coffee, is the best ingredient to use to bring the coffee aroma and flavour to a recipe. Instant coffee is used in both Nescafe Cupcakes and the frosting.
- To get the best aroma out of the Nescafe, add a small amount of hot water to the powder, mix it, and let it sit to cool down.
- This recipe calls for both butter and oil. Butter gives the recipe stability and aroma, and oil, on the other hand, keeps the cupcake moist for longer.
- This frosting has the base of American Buttercream and is infused with coffee flavour.
How To Make These Cupcakes
- First, beat the room-temperature butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time and mix well after each one.
- Mix the room-temperature milk, vanilla extract, and Nescafe mixture in a separate bow.
- Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt and add one-third of the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk mixture. This will be three parts of dry ingredients and two parts of liquid ingredients. Start and finish with dry ingredients.
- Line the cupcake pan's cavity with the liners and fill them up to ⅔ of their capacity. Bake them for 17-18 minutes, and let them cool down before frosting.
Variation;
Divide the batter into two 8-inch pans to make an 8-inch cake.
Frosting
- Mix the Nescafe powder in hot water and set it aside to cool down.
- Beat the butter until soft, light, and fluffy.
- Add the cream cheese and mix well.
- Add the powdered sugar in ¼ of a cup and beat well after each addition.
- Add the coffee, vanilla extract, and heavy cream and mix well.
- If the buttercream is too stiff, add some heavy cream; if it is too runny, add more powdered sugar.
- Use your favourite piping tip to pipe the buttercream on top of the cool cupcakes.
- You can garnish them with some Nescafe powder or place a coffee chocolate on top.
