About This Applesauce Spice Bundt Cake Recipe
- This recipe uses freshly made applesauce. See my post on how to make Apple Sauce. Applesauce acts like oil or tenderizer in a cake recipe. Applesauce acts much like fat. It keeps the flour protein from mixing entirely with the wet ingredients and forming a rubbery, dense texture.
- I used half a cup of Sweetened Condensed Milk. Condensed milk lends tenderness, moisture, and flavour to the recipe. These two ingredients add moisture and flavour to this applesauce Bundt cake.
- This recipe also contains both granulated and brown sugar. Brown sugar is made from molasses and is full of warm flavour and moisture.
- Visit my Spice Blends page and get the recipe for the warm vanilla blend that I use in this recipe.
- The liquid in this recipe comes from eggs and a little milk.
- Use a large Bundt cake pan with 10-12 cups capacity.
- This Bundt Cake can be topped with either powdered sugar or some icing, such as caramel icing.
- The other ingredients are just the basics that we use in baking.
Storing: Slice and store this bundt cake in an air-tight container in the fridge for 4-5 days.
Disclaimer: I highly recommend using the measurements in grams & ml (instead of cups & spoons) for more accuracy and better results.
