Start with peeling and coring the apples. Then, hop them into small slices. Put the apples in a large pan, then mix the sugars and the Apple Pie Spice Blend and mix well.
4 cups Apples, ½ cup Light brown sugar, 2 tablespoon Granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon Apple Pie Spice Blend
Mix the cornstarch into the apple cider in a separate bowl and add to the pan.
¼ cup Apple cider, 1½ teaspoon Cornstarch
Add the butter and salt, and let the filling cook until the apples are soft and turned into a caramel colour.
2 tablespoon butter, ¼ teaspoon Salt
Remove from the heat, add the vanilla extract, and mix well. Let it cool down completely. Pour the filling into a mason jar, and chill in the fridge.
