This Christmas Morning Cinnamon Bun Cake comes together in no time, and you can make it first thing in the christmas morning. No proofing, waiting for the dough to rise, etc.
Start adding dry ingredients alternating with sour cream. Three passes of dry ingredients and two passes of sour cream. Start and finish with dry ingredients.
1 cup Sour cream
How To Make The Filling
Mix all the ingredients for the filling until all well blended.
½ cup Butter, 1 cup Dark Brown sugar, 2 tablespoon All-purpose flour, 1½ tablespoon Cinnamon
Place dollops of the filling all over the cake batter. Use a pairing knife and make swirls in the fillings.
Bake the cake or 30-35 minutes, and let cool completely.
How To Make The Frosting
Beat the cream cheese until broken and smooth. Add the butter and mix well. Add the vanilla extract.
Gradually add in the powdered sugar. The frosting should have the consistency of the cinnamon bun frosting. If you like thicker frosting, add more powdered sugar, and if you want thinner frosting, add a couple of tablespoons heavy cream.
