These no-bake Peanut Butter Chocolate Hearts are a perfect, easy Valentine's dessert that you can make for your loved ones. These make an ideal dessert, snack, and gift as well.
Add the powdered sugar in ¼ cup additions and mix well after each. This recipe calls for three cups of powdered sugar, but since different powdered sugar brands contain various amounts of starch, you may need more to reach the desired consistency.
3 cups Powdered sugar
The dough should be playable, like soft play dough, and not too sticky. If it is too sticky, add more powdered sugar; if it is too dry, add one teaspoon of peanut butter.
Sprinkle powdered sugar on your working surface and the rolling pin for easy rolling. Roll out the dough to half an inch thickness and dip the heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut the hearts. Place them on a baking sheet and chill them for at least half an hour.
Chocolate Coating
While the hearts are chilling, melt the chocolate in a double boiler or the microwave. Use the microwave to warm the chocolate for 15 seconds, then stir and heat it for another 15 seconds. Repeat until all the chocolate is melted and smooth.
1½ cups Semi-sweet Chocolate
Add the coconut oil and mix. Use a fork to lift each heart and dip it into the melted chocolate. Pull the fork to the edge of the bowl to remove the excess chocolate. Place the hearts on a cooling rack to drip the excess chocolate. Let the chocolate set fully before decorating.
1 teaspoon Coconut oil
Melt the chocolate you will use for the lines. Pour the melted chocolate into a piping bag and snip the tip of the bag. Run the melted chocolate over the chocolate heart to create lines. If using white chocolate for the lines, you can add a couple of drops of pink food colouring for the pink lines.
¼ cup Milk chocolate, ¼ cup White chocolate, 2 drops Pink food colour
