Prepare the basic dough. Wrap in the cling wrap, and chill for two hours.
1 Batch Spice Cookie dough
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Roll out the cookie on the floured surface to ¼ thickness.
Using the cookie cutter, cut out the dough. Make sure half of the cookies are flat and half have a hole design in the center.
Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden. Let the cookies cool down for 10 minutes, then transfer them to the cooling rack and cool them completely.
Place about 1 teaspoon of the apple butter in the center of the flat cookie and place the cookie with the whole design on top.
