Fall breeze is in the air, and we see all Autumn indicators around us. Grocery stores have all kinds of baking and cooking apples, and bright orange pumpkins are sitting at the storefronts. One more thing that screams Autumn is the aromatic spices. These Brown Butter Apple Blondies have a blondie base and are loaded with chopped apples and aromatic baking spices!

About This Brown Butter Apple Blondies Recipe

    • These blondies are soft, buttery, flavourful, and unbelievably easy to make.
    • The key ingredient in this recipe is the brown butter. I have shared quite a few posts, including brown butter. Brown Butter Marble Cookies.
    • Browning butter adds a unique, warm and nutty flavour to the recipe.
    • Browning butter causes the butter to lose some of its water content, so we need to add something to replace the evaporated liquid! To do that, I added one tablespoon of Unsweetened Apple Sauce.

    Apples

    • The apples that we use in this recipe are cooking apples. Cooking apples doesn't change their shape while cooking. They can go into apple pie filling, hand pie, apple butter and filling, etc. Apple Butter
    • I used Pink Lady Apples in this Brown Butter Apple Blondies recipe, but other kinds of apples, such as Cosmic Crisp, Fuji, or Golden, are acceptable. You can also mix two kinds of apples for more flavour.

    • This recipe uses brown sugar for that extra caramel flavour and moisture from brown sugar.
    • The Blondies are topped with a mix of cinnamon and sugar before going into the oven, and this gives the blondies that crunchy and crispy top.

    • Add the apple sauce and vanilla extract and mix. The mixture should be smooth and homogeneous at this point.
