A light, fluffy, delicious, with a warm twist Cinnamon Chocolate Loaf.
Now that I am writing this blog post, we entered Fallonly a few days ago. I am sitting by the fireplace and enjoying a cup of coffee with a slice of a warm and delicious Cinnamon Chocolate Loaf. This loaf cake brings a sense of warmth, cozy, and a Fallish feeling.
About This Recipe
- This loaf cake is easy to make, and it comes together with the minimum number of ingredients.
- The batter devices into a plain and chocolate cinnamon, and then they swirl into each other. In this post, the amount of chocolate batter is more dominant, and each slice looks more like a chocolate cake than a plain cake; however, you can give more batter to the vanilla part and see a more defined swirl. I preferred this Cinnamon Chocolate Loaf recipe to taste more of the cinnamon chocolate flavour than plain cake.
- The Chocolate flavour comes from both chocolate chips as well as cocoa powder. I use Dutch-processed cocoa powder like this one. Cocoa Powder
- As I mentioned above, this recipe calls for chocolate chips, which can be either mini chocolate chips or the regular size. Even chopped chocolate chunks are fine, too.
- The rest of the ingredients are very basic, and I am sure you can find them in your pantry.
- The recipe calls for one teaspoon of cinnamon which blends into the chocolate batter, and this adds a warm and spicey feel to each bite.
- You can use this recipe to make cupcakes; only the bake time should be shorter to 18-20 minutes.
How To Make This Chocolate Cinnamon Loaf
- Prepare your 9X5 inch loaf pan by buttering and lining it with parchment paper.
- Toss the chocolate chips or the chocolate chunks in some flour and set it aside.
- In a bowl, sift all dry ingredients, including flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- Use the whisk attachment or hand mixer; in a separate bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, oil, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until well blended and smooth.
- Add this mixture to the dry ingredients and gently fold in. Use a rubber spatula.
- Pour half of this batter into the lined pan.
- Mix the cocoa powder and chocolate chips into the rest of the batter and pour over the plain batter.
- Use a pairing knife to run the two batters into each other by making swirls.
- Tap the pan on the counter a couple of times. Bake the loaf for 50-55 minutes or until an insert comes out clean.
- Let the loaf cool down in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer it to a cooling rack.
